DBS Asia Hub

Junior Application Developer

Assisted in developing several widgets for a new web application feature. Worked with Spring Boot to handle payloads and connect to the database. Coordinated with my team to ensure that our tasks stayed on track and were completed on time.

My Responsibilities:

Overview

My time as a Junior Application Developer at DBS was short but meaningful. I worked with other peers to develop a new component for a web application, kept track of tasks, and liaised with my overseas team on queries that arose.

Widget Development

I worked with two other peers to integrate a scanner function into a web application built with Angular and Spring Boot. I was responsible for connecting the FI scanner to the frontend controls and Spring Boot backend, configuring its parameters, and ensuring payloads were sent correctly. My peers handled the frontend, backend, and SQL database development. We worked closely to complete our tasks on time and ensure the application functioned correctly.

Conclusion

Although my time at DBS was short, I learnt a great deal about web application development through my first full-stack project. I’m very grateful for the mentorship and support I received from my team and fellow interns. Without their guidance, the project would likely have faced many more blockers. I’m thankful for the experience, knowledge, and practical skills I gained during this role.
